Assessor Inspections to Take Place in September 2024

August 28, 2024

Very soon some residents will receive a notice from the Assessor regarding the annual inspections as recommended by the State Tax Commission. The purpose of these inspections is to maintain a fair and equitable value on each property within the township. Approximately 20% of the properties are reviewed each year.  Assessor inspections will take place in September 2024.
This process involves the assessor visiting each property to do a quick review of the structures on the site as well as the condition of the property in general.  Many times the review is completed without having to meet with the owner and a new picture will be taken of the property.   In cases where something has changed such as a new structure or change in some type of site improvement such as paving or concrete, it may be necessary for the item in question to be measured.
The mailed notice includes the assessor’s email and phone number in case you would like to opt out of this process. The vehicle will have “Eagle Township Assessor” signs to identify the occupants. Please do not be alarmed if the assessor pulls into your drive and takes a few moments to review the property records. It may not be necessary for the assessor to knock on your door or walk on your property. This process will not affect your property taxes unless something is found that was not previously on the record card.
Please contact the Assessor below if you have any questions regarding this process.
