ITC Holdings Oneida to Sabine Lake Project Update

ITC proposed routes for the high voltage transmission line running from the Oneida substation in Eaton County to the Sabine Lake Substation north of Fowlerville in Livingston County have been proposed as going south of Lansing and not north through Eagle Township.

The transmission line will require a 200-foot-wide right-of-way.  Structures are estimated to be approximately 125-180 feet tall and spaced approximately 800-1200 feet apart.

The timeline for the new route is

Public Engagement, Q1/Q2 2026
Finalize routes  end 2026 and 2027
Submit to MPSC by end of 2027
MPSC has a year to review and decide
Construction expected 2029 with 18 months building.
