CLINTON COUNTY
UPDATE AUGUST 8 2025 FROM ITC
On July 10, 2025, the Michigan Public Service Commission approved the Michigan Electric Transmission Company (METC) alternate route. ITC, through our wholly owned subsidiary METC, will build the new Nelson Road – Oneida transmission line, spanning approximately 40 miles from Oneida Substation in Eaton County to the Nelson Road Substation in Gratiot County. This project will improve grid reliability and enable the safe and reliable movement of power to our communities.
In your community you will see land consultants working on behalf of ITC. We have been actively working with landowners through our land consultants at Universal Field Services (UFS) for several months now to learn more about the unique characteristics of their property and begin discussions to acquire land rights. Impacted landowners will be contacted by UFS to acquire an easement for the electric transmission line. Our land consultants can be reached by phone at 855-482-5787 (855-ITC-LRTP) and by email at ITCLRTP@ufsrw.com. Our goal is to achieve a mutually beneficial voluntary agreement with all landowners whenever possible.
